Abstract
For absorption of oral drugs, its dissolution in the absorption site is necessary and it is an important step to deliver drug to general circulation after oral application. In biopharmaceutics, drugs are classified into four classes (class I, II, III & IV), according to their solubility, second class drugs have high permeability and low solubility. Different technologies are used to prepare nanocrystals to reduce the problem of poor drug solubility. Nanocrystals have a small size with high surface area which is a suitable way for improving solubility, increasing drug dissolution rate and improving adhesion of the drug to mucous membrane, thus, increases bioavailability. different nanocrystal technology can be used to prepare formulations such as suspensions, tablets, capsules, plates, emulsions and inhalation powders.
