Abstract

This research evaluates the construction and management of laying hen farms in four districts of Kabul Province: Bagrami, Chahar Asiab, Dehsabz, and Qarabagh. Methods such as interviews, farm observations, and questionnaires with a descriptive design were employed to gather sufficient and reliable information. The study reveals that all farms rear crossbreeds (Golden crossbreed), which are highly disease-resistant and perform well in meat production. These hens lay 225 eggs per cycle compared to native hens. In terms of farm construction, out of six farms, only one adheres to standard guidelines. The other farms were constructed without considering farm standards, with issues such as cracks in the muddy walls and roofs lacking proper coverage.
