Abstract

Fiber optic technology is widely used in medical procedures for diagnosing diseases. A fiber optic endoscope is employed to examine internal organs for diagnostic purposes, as the interior of the human body is like a dark room with no natural light to make internal organs visible. Before fiber optics, there was limited flexibility for entering the human body through the throat or nose, and the light sources used generated heat inside the body, causing side effects. With the discovery of fiber optics, these two problems were effectively solved. The fiber optic cable is highly flexible, allowing for easy insertion through the throat or nose, and the light used in fiber optics has no harmful side effects. Fiber optics have introduced a new generation of endoscopy, a set of optical fibers used to view the inside of the body.
